Editing is Complete!!

After a hectic schedule and back-to-back tests, we’re finally diving into the editing process. The excitement is real, but we hit a small roadblock. Our 4K footage wouldn’t import into Adobe Premiere Pro. To fix this, we used HandBrake to convert the files, and then we were back on track.

Here's an elaborated breakdown of the editing process:

Opening Shot:
Captured using a DJI Air 2S drone, providing an aerial view for an immersive and cinematic introduction.

Sound Effects:
A howling sound was sourced online and integrated into the scene to enhance the eerie atmosphere.

Audio Layering:
Multiple audio tracks were layered to create depth and build tension.

Music Editing:
The music track was slowed down by reducing the playback speed on YouTube, giving it a distorted, unsettling effect.

Use of Satanic Verses:
Satanic verses were included as part of the audio design to add a dark and unsettling undertone.

Color Grading:
Applied a blue-cold color grading in Photoshop SL, enhancing the horror mood with a chilling and desaturated look.

Film Effect:
A faded film effect (38%) was applied to give the footage a vintage or eerie, washed-out appearance.
Cinematic Crop:

The top and bottom of the frame were cropped by 12% to achieve a cinematic widescreen aspect ratio, enhancing the visual appeal.

Character Appearance & Flicker Effect:
The character of the mysterious creature was introduced using a masking technique in the opacity tab.
A flicker effect was created by deleting alternate frames, producing a glitchy, ghostly presence.
A jump scare sound was carefully timed with the flicker effect for maximum impact.

Audio Smoothing:
Constant gain audio adjustment was used to soften any harsh audio transitions and make the sound design more immersive.

Background Sound Keyframing:
The levels of background sounds were controlled using keyframes, gradually increasing from 0 to 100 for a dynamic and controlled audio buildup.

Top Shot Animation:
A top-down camera shot of Tehreem was animated in the Effects Control Motion tab.
The scale was keyframed and auto-bezier interpolation was applied, ensuring smooth zooming or motion effects.

It took us 2 days to edit the entire film opening. The editing process is intense but rewarding. Stay tuned to see the final result.
