My Favourite Film Producer: Zoya Akhtar

Zoya Akhtar, one of Bollywood’s most acclaimed filmmakers, is known for her realistic and subtle  stories and relatable characters. Born into a creative family—her father Javed Akhtar and brother Farhan Akhtar—Zoya forged her own path, studying filmmaking at NYU and starting as an assistant director.

Her work has always been deep and is based on themes of identity, privilege, and relationships. Starting from the satirical *Luck By Chance* in 2009, and then to the emotive *Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara* in 2011, she beautifully captures human emotions. *Dil Dhadakne Do* in 2015 takes a very close look at family dynamics and the pressures people face from society. *Gully Boy* (2019) tells a story of a young rapper and his struggle to follow his dreams in the face of adversity. In *Made in Heaven* (2019), she delves into modern relationships, showing how tradition and change often collide. With every film, Zoya makes stories that deeply resonate with one's feelings

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is my favorite movie because it’s more than just a road trip; it’s a celebration of life, friendship, and self-discovery. The film’s characters, whether it’s Arjun overcoming his fears, Imran confronting his past, or Kabir navigating expectations, reflect real struggles we all face. Its stunning visuals, soulful poetry, and timeless message to live fully and embrace every moment in life—make it a story that stays with you long after the credits roll.
